A mainly agricultural county, Wiltshire covers an area of 1,343 square miles and has a population of 555,000. It has it's administrative headquarters at Trowbridge with the cathedral city of Salisbury, and the towns of Swindon and Wilton, famous for it's carpets, being other major centres. Wiltshire has, in Stonehenge, on Salisbury Plain, probably the most famous prehistoric site in Britain. Along with this scenically beautiful area Wiltshire also offers Marlborough Downs, Savernake Forest and the river Kennet.The county lists as it's main products, wheat, cattle, carpets, rubber and engineering.

Shrewton,.....The Cottage & Hayloft Maddington House Maddington House is the family home of Dick and Joan Robathan who's aim is to make your stay as pleasant as possible. The Cottage comprises:- A large double room with king sized bed and ample wardrobe & cupboard space. A small twin bedded room, with lovely old beams. A bathroom - a bath with shower attachment and shaver point A beamed kitchen with dining area well equipped with electric cooker, microwave, washing machine, fridge, freezer and ironing facilities The sitting room with exposed brickwork/beams has a TV, video, radio/CD/cassette player. Broadband Internet available. Full central heating. The Hayloft is a newly converted annexe attached to the rear of the house, comfortable, quiet, and tastefully furnished. It has twin beds (which can be made into a kingsized bed), with an en suite shower room, catering for two persons, with a small kitchen downstairs with a refrigerator, combi microwave, twin electric hob, toaster, kettle etc. There is off road parking, and use of the walled garden.
